Bacchanal Jamaica “Future Shock” says THANK YOU

Bacchanal Jamaica wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all who made the 2012 staging of Bacchanal 'Future Shock' a success.

On Sunday April 15, revelers took to the streets of Kingston in climactic form with colour filled costumes dancing to soca melodies both old and new … making for the ultimate carnival experience possible.

Blessed with rain revelers continued to party in the streets, making Bacchanal Future Shock a bench mark of fun when mother nature decided to mix things up.

Bacchanal Jamaica PR officer Renee Hartley said, “It was an amazing and fulfilling bacchanal journey and the rain just added to the merriment. Seeing the love and unity between everyone this season makes me only look forward to another successful and unforgettable year."

To the sponsors, revelers, service providers, costume designers, sound technicians, deejays, stage managers, truck drivers, caterers, media, vendors, store owners, and so many others across Jamaica who spent sleepless nights to ensure that Carnival 2012 was enormously festive, Bacchanal Jamaica says, “THANK YOU'. ” And hopes that together all parties will continue to work together to make Carnival 2013 even better.

BACCHANAL JAMAICA ‘FUTURE SHOCK’ SEASON CLOSES WITH WET, GLAMOROUS ROAD MARCH

The ultra-successful and other-worldly ‘Future Shock’ bacchanal season staged by Bacchanal Jamaica came to a wet yet fantastic end on Sunday April 15 with its Road March and costume display through the streets of Kingston. The new, longer route provided plenty eye-candy for on-lookers and gave revellers more time to release their inhibitions as they enjoyed the final event for the 2012 season.

The glitzy Road March featured eye-catching costumes with a multiplicity of colours, sparkles, feathers, jewels and headpieces worn by beautifully styled women and muscular, toned men. The Road March began shortly after 10:00 a.m. with revellers psyched to enjoy their ‘Last Hurrah’ event. There was no holding back as ‘bacchanalists’ partied on the road to soca hits including KES the Band’s ‘Wotless’, Destra Garcia’s “Baddist & Attitude”, Fay-Ann Lyons’ ultra- popular ‘Miss Behave’ and Mr. Vegas’ infectious tune ‘Bruk it Dung’. The skies began to darken with rain threatening to drench the massive crowd but when the skies opened up, revellers became even more hedonistic, transforming the Road March into a mega-sized water party with no signs of the energy and vibe of the crowd dissipating. Indeed, the rain seemed to make the Road March far more enjoyable as revellers literally went down on the ground whining, gyrating and raising the temperatures even though the afternoon was slightly chilly. Persons from all walks of life participated in the ‘Future Shock’ Road March enhanced by the presence of popular soca artiste Destra Garcia, who was ‘jumping’ in Jamaica for the first time. Garcia added the spirit of Trinidad to the Jamaican Road March with a performance just as dazzling as the one she delivered at Bacchanal J’ouvert on April 13, as she performed some of her hits including “Baddist”, “Fly” and “It’s Carnival”.
